Alexander Sigutin (b. 1959) is a well-known Russian artist, one of the leaders of the "South Russian wave" in contemporary art, a prominent representative of the postmodernist trend. We recognize them from works dedicated to the combination of different artistic languages within the framework of Christian themes.
Alexander Sigutin was born in Rostov-on-Don. Graduated from the art and graphic faculty of the Rostov State Pedagogical Institute. Member of the "Art or Death" group, together with V. Koshlyakov, Y. Shabelnikov, A. Ter-Oganyan and others. In the early 1990s, he moved to Moscow, actively participated in the capital's cultural life, exhibited in the "gallery on Trekhprudny" - the famous squat of artists. Participated in a number of biennials, including the main project of the 5th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art.
