Andris Eglitis is a leader of the young generation of Latvian art, the author of the Latvian pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2015. The artist is known first of all for his installations with inclusion of paintings and objects. Eglitis' works are connected with the observation of nature and its thorough philosophical comprehension. The artist is interested both in the nature of things and in the process of their perception of a person. In his program paintings, which are based on impressions of specific landscapes or situations (sometimes even captured in photos), he often approaches the edge with abstraction, thus showing that our impressions of reality are conditional and depend on the position of the observer.
