Natasha Tarr is one of the most interesting Moscow artists. Works equally professionally with various media: painting on canvas, graphics on paper or fabric, installation, performance. Tarr explores in his projects the socio-cultural issues of various strata of society. Developing her own language, the artist uses both classical ornaments and symbols of subcultures, for example, she refers to the aesthetics of the Soviet criminal tattoo.
Natasha Kuchumova was born in 1982 in Zlatoust (Chelyabinsk region, Russia). In 2005 she entered the St. Petersburg Art and Industry Academy. A.L. Stieglitz, from which she graduated in 2011. In 2012, Natasha continued her education at the Baza Institute of Contemporary Art in Moscow (workshop of A. Osmolovsky). Her first solo exhibition, The Most Ancient Theft, took place at the START young art site (Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art, curated by Maria Kalinina) in 2013. In 2014, the artist took the pseudonym Tarr and made her debut in the pop / off / art gallery with the personal project "The only nice things". In 2015, Natalya hosted the opening of the exhibition "With a smiling face, or Everything will be fine" (TsTI "Factory"). Among the group exhibitions with the participation of the artist, it is necessary to mention such projects as: "Deceptive Reality" at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, "Here" at the Museum of Moscow (both - 2013), "Landscapes" (Electrozavod space, 2014), "Bona Vivo "(Museum of DPI Moscow, 2015). The artist lives and works in Moscow.
