pop/off/art gallery participates in Cosmoscow, international art fair held in Gostiny Dvor, Moscow on 7, 8 and 9 September. The gallery booth showcases works by Vladimir Potapov and Alexander Plusnin.
The 6th edition of Cosmoscow, Russia’s only international contemporary art fair, will take place in the historic market building, Gostiny Dvor, on 7-9 September 2018.
This year the pop/off/art stand presents the works by Vladimir Potapov from the Realities series and artworks from the Alexander Plusnin’s new project.
Vladimir Potapov (1980) is one of the leading Russian artists of the middle generation, curator, theorist, and popular of contemporary art. He is well-known for the conceptual approach to painting medium, which resulted in a sequence of series, problematizing the surface, space and material of a contemporary picturesque artwork. He gained a degree in The Volgograd State Institute of Arts named after P.A.Serebryakov. Later on, he graduated from the School of Contemporary Art Free Workshops, Moscow. Potapov was nominated for a number of major regional and international awards in contemporary art. He has participated as an artist and curator in dozens of group exhibitions. Recently Potapov had a personal exhibition in Kunsthalle Rostock (Only History Lies Ahead, Rostock, Germany, 2018), and in The Moscow Museum of Modern Art (From Memory, Moscow, Russia, 2015).
Alexander Plusnin (1981) is a graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Art and theory BAZA, he takes an active part in projects and exhibitions, which take place on the leading independent platforms (e.g. Elektrozavod gallery, Center Red, CCA Winzavod, Moscow), as well as in museums and Biennales of contemporary art (9th Shanghai Biennale, 2012; 12th Krasnoyarsk Museum Biennale “Mir: the Village and the World”, 2017; 6th Moscow Biennale of contemporary art, 2015; Museum of Moscow, CCA Winzavod). Curated Heliogabalus exhibition as a part ofthe parallel program of the 5th Moscow International Biennale for Young Art.
